Just 3 more cycling weeks until Christmas

The days are getting chilly, but we’ve still got lots on.

First of all, the very best of luck to the Welland Valley riders taking part in the Masters Cyclocross World Championship at Ipswich this (long) weekend.

Friday: Vic Barnett and Denis Smith

Saturday: Rob Moore, Nik, Kershaw, Han Van Nierop, Steve Coulam, Simon Askham and Austin Smith

Sunday: Michael Burke and Mark Fiddy

We’re proud to be so well represented by you all and will be rooting for you.

This Friday (tomorrow) we’ve a steady club ride out to the Christmas tree festival in Burton Overy where refreshments are also available. They leave from The Square in Market Harborough at 9.30am in a festive mood!

There’s a bunch off-roading on Saturday morning. They’re meeting in Great Bowden at 8.30am. Get in touch with Adrian (offroad@wellandvalleycc.co.uk) to find out more or join the WhatsApp group.

There are at least 3 club rides taking place on Sunday morning, departing from The Square at 9.15am as usual. It’s good to see we still have great numbers riding so far this winter.

There’s a Breeze ride on Sunday afternoon for novice women riders. Full details on the Let’s Ride website.

Tales of red and white lights all over Farndon Hill last Tuesday night were true as the WVCC hill climbers were out in force. You can join them this week to practise those hill climb repeats at 6.30pm on the road into Farndon from Harborough (what3words: flippers.rejects.simple).

Mudlarks also continues on Wednesday evenings through the muddy winter months. There’s great fun (honestly!) to be had from 7pm on the area behind the leisure centre in Market Harborough.
