Come and try a Time Trial!

Welland Valley CC’s long history has its foundations in time trialling,  and in 2025 has a thriving time trial section, with over 25 events scheduled throughout the year.

The club’s TTs are run over a variety of courses and distances – from 5 miles to 25 miles (with 10 miles the most frequent).  Competitors range in age from 12 to 70+ and all abilities are welcome – especially TT novices.  Club TTs are great fun, and always enjoy a  supportive and fun atmosphere.

And the good news is that you don’t need a Star Wars bike, pointy hat, skinsuit or racing snake physique to take part – riders on standard road bikes currently make up around 50% of all TT competitors.

All courses are fully signed with marshals at the key junctions –click here for a summary and guide of all our courses – and at the end of every event, there’s tea and cake back at race HQ and the chance for a catch up with other riders.

All our courses are approved, risk assessed and marshalled but it remains the responsibility of riders to be familiar with courses and road conditions before they ride.

If you’re still unsure about giving the ‘race of truth’ a go, then have a chat with regular testers Andy Poulton, Jon Durnin or Simon Ward (they are all friendly and happy to chat) at one of our events, or check out this superb article by Cycling Plus ‘s Dan Joyce at https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/articles/view/28
