A Day Out in the Peak District

Mike Sirett is off to the Peak District at the end of the month and wonders if others might like to join the fun.

My climbing partner and I will be going for a ride out from Hathersage in the Peak District on Saturday 28th September and thought it we’d have an open invitation to anyone in the club who fancies a day out in the Peaks.

We plan to do about 50 miles on our planned route with some big climbs in there as you would expect. It’s a loose plan so if we feel like doing a bit more we will but not more than 60 miles as it’s a hilly route we’ve not done before.

Anyone who fancies a change of scenery can meet us at the Pool Café in Hathersage (S321DU) around 9AM which is over the road from the Public Car Park. The café does a very nice selection of grub and coffee.

We plan to leave any time, after 9:40 AM and be back by about 2PM as we may take in a coffee stop en-route.

There were a few people that I mentioned it to in the club who expressed an interest and they are away this time so if this works out, we’ll organise another day out.

Anyone who fancies coming, I  would seriously suggest bring a bike with lots of low gears for this.
