Congratulations!

Well done to the youngsters gaining awards this week,  you are a credit to the club. Thank you to our reporter and photographer Sohpia Gowers.
The Mallory Park Youth Road Race League 2023 awards evening took place on Tuesday night.  Several of the club’s youth riders, aged from 6 up to 15 years, have taken part in the league from Easter to July, competing on varying circuits each Tuesday evening around Mallory Park.  This evening was slightly different as it featured a handicap race, with riders of all ages out on the course, followed by the Mini-bike World Championships, which saw all riders take to the course on 16-inch wheels.
Joshua Giddings, of Lotto Dstny and Team GB, was on hand as a very special guest to hand out the awards.  He has previously competed in the Youth League at Mallory, starting as an under-12, and has since gone on to ride in the previous two Tour of Britain races for Team GB.  You may have seen him as part of the lead out for Ethan Vernon this year!
This year awards went to:
Sylvia Baxter, Under 8 Girls 3rd place, Charlie Hardwick, Under 10 Boys 3rd place, Ruby Isaac, Under 16 Girls 2nd place.
Daniel Hardwick received special commendation for his super-stylish cycling sock choices… man-eating sharks anyone?  Sylvia Baxter also received the ‘Spirit of Mallory’ award for her efforts this year.
The riders and their families would like to extend their thanks to the Mallory Park Youth Road Race League organisers, commissaires and volunteers who have given the young riders the opportunity to participate this year.
