Trevor Wise

Welland Valley Cycling Club is very sad to have received this email from Trevor’s family today, which we have been asked to share.

Dear All,

For those that knew him, I am sorry to announce that Trevor Wise passed away peacefully on 20thOctober 2022.

Trevor had been a member of WVCC since 1993 (then WVW) when he joined so as to support (and race with) his two sons Will and Alex. He rekindled his love for cycling from his youth and regularly raced at events and continued his support of WVCC outside of racing by joining the committee as their first Youth Development Officer (the original Whizz Kid). He was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in 2013 and made every effort to live life to the full. He continued racing bicycles until he physically couldn’t climb on them any more – his last race being on the back of a tandem with his eldest son – Will – in May 2019.

The family will keep WVCC members informed of arrangements made to celebrate Trevor’s life, but ask that if you have an photos of Trevor, short anecdotes or memories that you share these with them. Please feel free to contact Will onwillycrashit@hotmail.com

Sincere condolences to the Wise family from all at WVCC.
