Rhys Thomas describes the action from the Leicester Forest CC Circuit Races

Last Sunday I decided to enter the Cat 4 Circuit Race that was being hosted by Leicester Forest Cycling Club on the cycle circuit in Leicester.

Having not ridden there before I turned up early enough to have time to get a few laps in. It was a lovely sunny day, although a little on the warm side. Due to the heat it was decided to keep the race to 45 minutes rather than add any additional laps.

There were a few early attacks but nothing stuck. With three laps to go everything was still together, so I decided  to have a go. Not sure if I was holding the bunch off or they were leaving me dangle off the front! Either way got caught on the finishing straight…and finished 7th.
