Over the past few months WVCC’s Mike Smith has been hiding in Watopia putting in the km’s for the annual Duchenne Dash. Usually it’s a 24hour London-Paris cycling event which raises money to find a cure for DMD Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a rare muscle wasting disease – often raising £1 million.
This year, for obvious reasons it can’t go ahead as normal so we’ve come up with a different idea which more of you might want to join. Riders, including Mike, will be cycling around the legendary race track at Goodwood as individuals and relay teams for 12 hours. Each entrant will try to do a minimum of 100km and a maximum of whatever they can manage in the time.
The Dash team are brilliant organisers and it promises to be a lot of fun in a great location. Charities have been badly hit during the pandemic so are even more reliant on fundraising events like this.
It’s Saturday July 3rd 2021 – all the details are in the link below. Do support Mike if you can as his does his 9th Duchenne Dash.
