I’m sure all members will join me in wishing a speedy recovery to long time club member and keen time trialist Tom Evans.
Tom was involved in a collision with a car whilst out on his bike on Sunday afternoon near to Kettering. He’s been taken to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry for treatment. Amongst other injuries Tom has fractures to his spine and pelvis and is awaiting a precautionary MRI scan. It is hoped that the fractures will heal without the need for surgery.
I have spoken with Tom and his wife Emma who are keen for club members to know what happened. Tom is expected to be in hospital for a week or more, he is obviously very sore but is grateful for the care that he is being given and should make a good recovery. His undoubted determination and positive attitude will ensure he is soon on the mend.
