Welland Valley Sportive this Saturday (25 May)

It’s the East Midlands’ bike event of the year this Saturday, with the sixth running of the Welland Valley Sportive in what promises to be ideal weather conditions.

With five rides to suit all abilities and ambitions; a predicted 18C and no rain – plus a race HQ based at a brewery offering a free beer to all finishers – there’s every reason to sign-up right NOW

Entries can be made online until midnight on Thursday and will guarantee you a place on one of the UK’s most scenic cyclo-sportives.

Entries will also be taken on the day up until 10am (at a slightly higher fee); but it’s best to book now and avoid that dreaded bank holiday shopping trip to Fosse Park et al.

There are two challenging road routes (100k and 60k) and three off-road circuits (60k, 30k and a 17k family ride), click the links to download the routes.

The sportive, which is organised by Welland Valley Cycling Club, starts and finishes at the Langton Brewery, near Market Harborough; and all riders receive a free beer or soft drink at the finish line.

In addition, there are four bottles of Two Birds Gin and 50 family photo-shoot vouchers (courtesy of Maz of Leicester) up for grabs in the raffle

All profits from the event go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
