Website update

The beady eyed amongst you will have noticed that the Club website has changed.

The Club’s previous website was hosted by Cycling Club Software, and a few weeks ago the Club was informed by the company that manages this platform that from early February it would be discontinuing this service for commercial reasons.  The Club Committee was very disappointed with this development, as a lot of hard work by many people had gone into setting up the new site and adding extensive content, which was working well and was popular with members.

Whilst this is a wholly unexpected development, Club Webmaster Sophie Alexander and Club Member Lorna Marlow have quickly developed a plan to migrate the website to a new WordPress based platform (this one!), which retains a similar style to the previous site, with the scope to add content and develop and improve functionality over time.  The immediate focus has been to get the ‘basics’ right to ensure the Club maintains its excellent web presence during this transition, with further functionality to follow.

Our Facebook page, Twitter page and Sign Up Genius site are unaffected.
