Charlie says….. “check out my TT report!”

Charlie Hardwicke reports on the first Kibworth 25 mile TT of 2026

“It was dull (but thankfully not wet) this morning for the riders lining up for the first WVCC 25 mile TT of 2026. The Kibworth course is challenging, but not impossible – I did my best to find a pace that worked and stick with it – and the quiet roads meant I didn’t have to worry about traffic. This was my first solo 25 – until now my dad has been my support rider, but this time he decided to ride it himself … which made it all the sweeter when I came home 25s ahead of him!

The winner overall was Hans van Nierop, the only rider under an hour with a speedy 57:52, whilst first road bike was fellow juvenile, Aubrey Elmer, with 1:05:44 and first woman was Linda Thames with 01:14:38. Huge thanks to all the volunteers, timekeepers, marshals and whoever brought the tasty cakes.

I know lots of people are slightly daunted by 25s and stick to the shorter distances, but I’d honestly say give one a go. They’re tough but doable … sometimes the hardest part is just signing on!”

Thanks Charlie 👌(and well done for beating your Dad!)
