Langtons TT #2: Wind Assistance

Overcast and a brisk chilly southerly wind greeted the 34 riders for the second WVCC 10 of the season on Tuesday at the Langtons course. The wind appeared to do us all a favour with crosswinds for most of the course but a decent tailwind between Ashley and Medbourne made for some fast times and the odd PB.

There were fewer incidents with week with only one rider appearing at the wrong start, while last week a loose crank a puncture and a missed turn (apologies) caused problems.

Jamie Kershaw on his roadbike led the Welland Valley scorers home, beating our president Phil Rayner by a minute into second but first vet. Shoutout also to an excellent 26.45 from Milly Pinnock to take the women’s prize.

Thanks as ever to our timekeepers, marshals and the wonderful Angela for her refreshments – and, of course to Mike Ives for the processing of results and championships.

Thanks to both Mike and Hans for photos.

And don’t forget, it all happens again, next Tuesday, Tour of the Langtons HQ is Kibworth Methodist Church.
