Round Robin #2 report
On Tuesday 32 riders from 5 local clubs joined in Husbands Bosworth for round two of the Round Robin series. There was a light breeze from the west according to my weather app, but the spinning wind turbines suggested an underestimate. The course, meticulously measured and marked, spanned 10 miles, featuring a mix of tiring inclines, flat stretches, and a few technical turns. The out leg felt fast, but with enough drizzle to take with caution the winding descent from Theddingworth. The return leg was harder as usual with a combination of a headwind and bigger climbs.
Alex Whitmore (Ratae RC) was fastest (on a roadbike!) at 22:58, James Moore was fastest Welland Valley rider at 23:33 (James suffered a 10 second delay as he was also pusher off).
Milly Pinnock was fastest woman at 27:09 and special mention to both Charlie Hardwicke and Mea Moore who both set excellent times for such young riders.

Thanks to the marshals, time keepers Angela for catering and Mike Ives for processing the results, it couldn’t happen without them.
Thanks Roger Kockelbergh for a great report, and for delivering a great event.
One rider lost a small light, retrieved by our marshal. George Barnett has it in safe keeping.
With Ratae RC’s scheduled round on 26 July cancelled due to badgers making a mess of their course, the next Round Robin is on 30 July on the Caldecott course, organised by Rockingham Forest Wheelers. Entries are now open, and need to be done through the CTT website, here: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/events/40903-rockingham-forest-wheelers-club-10-round-12
With a limit of 60 riders, entry is on a first come first served basis. Rocko are using the Cycling Time Trials website to manage entry, and you have to enter online. Riders need a CTT account to do this. There is no cost to enter online, you pay in person on the night when you sign on.
Setting up a CTT account is straightforward (https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/register), and you will have an account already if you have entered an open TT in the past (including N&DCA events). However forgotten passwords are something riders just have to sort themselves.
Ratae RC are looking to reschedule their events later in the summer.
