N&DCA Medbourne Hilly TT: What a cracker!
Top testers from across the South East Midlands convened in Medbourne for Round 2 of the Northampton & District 2025 TT Series, organised by Welland Valley Cycling Club.
Basked in sunshine with an April chill in the air (and the dead badger positioned right on the racing line safely removed by hero Andy), riders tackled the quiet but ‘lumpy’ 9.5 mile course.
- Paul Pardoe (Peterborough CC) was the fastest overall with 22:15, pipping George Fox (George Fox Cycling) by 5 seconds. Jamie Murray (Peterborough CC) was third fastest with 23:15.
- Leah Cuthbertson (Onyx RT) was fastest woman with 26:49, with Welland Valley’s Milly Pinnock second on 29:08, both on road bikes. Carolyn Pfalzgraf (VeloElite RC) was third with 29:13.

Chapeau to all the riders, and particularly 12 year old Isaac from Stolen Goat Race Team, with a commendable 30:36.
Spot prizes of N&DCA anniversary bidons were won by Pete Bradshaw, Andy Poulton, Isaac Barrel and Jane Moore.
The event was supported by a tip top team from WVCC. Big thanks to timekeepers George, Peter and John; results runner Laoise; CTT observer Phil; Matt and ‘Badger’ Poulton for signs; Chris pushing off; marshals Ray, Simon, Debbie, Victor, Ros and Tim; and Clare, Nate, Megan, Denise and John at the HQ. Without you the race would not happen.
Thanks also to officials from N&DCA for their guidance and support in the run up to the event.
Donations for tea, coffee and cakes to Thomas’s Fund (Music Therapy to help change and improve lives for families) and Leicester Wheels for All (providing disabled children and adults with the opportunity to experience the sense of freedom and independence that cycling can bring).
Jon Durnin and Matt Plews.
