And its liftoff! Round 1 TT Results are in

A beautiful April evening greeted the 21 riders who signed up for tonight’s TT on the Medbourne Course.   However if riders were enjoying the light, the birdsong and the sound of lambs frolicking in the evening sun then they were just not trying hard enough.

As always with this course, there was the usual debate as to whether TT bikes or road bikes were faster… it turns out that it’s the ability to go up hills like a rocket is the key to a fast time here.

It was great to see Jamie Kershaw and Ruby Isaac at the event.  They might be riding with race teams in 2025, but as long standing junior members they remain eligible for Club Competitions, and duly put in great performances.

Jamie was fastest overall and fastest road bike, followed by Hans Van Nierop and Lawrence Noble.  Ruby was the fastest woman, and second fastest overall on a road bike.

The times are here, courtesy of our results guru Mike Ives:  https://wellandvalleycc.github.io/2025ClubChampionshipEvent1.htm

Its super helpful to Mike if riders can remember their actual Club Number when they sign on.

Huge thanks to all who gave up their time to support the event.  Lawrence and Ray for marshalling and putting out signs, Wilf for pushing off, George and Peter for timekeeping and sign on, Mike for the results and to Angela for the tea, coffee and amazing cakes.  Events cannot happen without this support.

Next up its the N&DCA Series Round 2 on the same course, this coming Sunday.  It’s an open, and sign up has closed with no entry on the day, but if you are out on Sunday morning why not come and cheer the riders on.
