Get your entries in for the Northampton & District Cycling Association 9.5 Time Trial

Round 2 of the Club Championship will be run as part of the Northants & District Cycle Association (N&DCA) series that the Club is organising on Sunday 6th April.  The event is on the Medbourne 9.5 course, and is also a qualifying event for our ‘Hardrider’ Trophies.

This is a great opportunity to try an ‘open’ event, as well as get early points on the board, so why not come and give it a go.  You even have a chance to race this course in the first round of the Club Championship on 1 April!

Because it is an Open Time Trial, entry is via Cycling Time Trials only, and entries close on Tuesday 25th March.  You can find the entry link here: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/events/32149-northampton-district-cycling-association-9-5-tt-series-2-of-8

To encourage participation, the Club will subsidise the increased cost of entry for any Club member who rides this event by giving them free entry to their next Club time trial.

N&DCA celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2025, and there is a series of local events you can enter.

About the course:

  • A very quiet rural course with not much flat riding, so pace judgment plays a big part in success as the course rolls up and down repeatedly before a fast finishing stretch after the last turn.
  • To note in your recce: Don’t go mad at the start! It climbs then drags before a steep fast descent with a bend which can surprise the unwary before a right angle turn at the bottom. The descent into and ride through Horninghold needs care.

There is very limited parking, so local riders are urged to ride out to the event if at all possible.
