Open up miles more smiles with group riding skills sessions

Being able to ride in a group safely and efficiently opens up a wide range of opportunities for those relatively new to cycling, including club runs, chain gangs and even circuit racing.  It makes cycling much more fun and sociable, and often a little easier!

Welland Valley CC are very pleased to be offering traffic free two training evenings to be held on Wed 26th June and Wed 17th July with Club Coach Simon Ward.   These will take place on the superb Leicester Cycle Circuit (New Parks College, Glenfield Rd Leicester, LE3 6DN, https://www.newcollege.leicester.sch.uk/leicester-cycle-circuit/153.html). Simon leads on Youth Development for the Club and has successfully coached a number of our seniors of all ages and abilities.  His sessions are always hard work and fun!

How many sessions should I come to?

There will be some overlap between the two evenings, so you’ll get the opportunity to put what you learn in session one into action on session two. However, both sessions are stand alone and you are welcome to come to either or both.

What’s the track like?

Wonderful! It’s 1km long, 6m wide, silky smooth and flat. There are no potholes to watch out for and no traffic so you can really concentrate on enjoying your ride and learning new skills.

What facilities are there?

There’s plenty of secure parking, floodlighting, toilets and a small kitchen area for making drinks.

How much does it cost?

£5 per evening for members, £7 per evening for non members.

Who can come?

All club members are welcome with female members being particularly welcome – in fact we have reserved 10 places for women. Cycling friends who are thinking about joining the club are welcome too.  We do have a limit on numbers, so make sure you book your place by following this link now Welland Valley Cycling Club: Training Evening (signupgenius.com)
