Floodlit Capers

Tuesday evening saw several Welland Valley CC riders participating in the Capers Floodlit Cyclocross Test Event organised by Rockingham Forest Wheelers.

Held at West Glebe Park, the course was fast and technical, with a bit of ‘Strava Art’ thrown in for good measure.  Riders rode with lights, with most remembering to ensure they were not flashing, and started in two waves separated by a minute.

The race soon settled into lots of mini battles across the course, with riders blessed with power, and those with great technical skills, all having parts of the course in which to shine.  There were some great rides from those wearing yellow.

Huge thanks to David and Phil from the Rocko for organising a cracking event, and all those who helped to make the event happen.

There were some very tired (mostly older) riders at the Mudlarks session on Wednesday, with coaches Kevin and Simon thoroughly enjoying putting riders through a tough session over the lumps and bumps.
