Cycling Skills Session 1

Thank you to Mark and Jane Evans, along with the lovely folk from Kettering CC who are organising and running these evenings.
Two parallel brilliant sessions were enjoyed by KCC Cyclones and young WVCC riders at Desborough leisure centre on Monday evening.
The younger group left smiling after a session delivered by Fran and Jane. Riders focused on control and balance of their bikes using a sizeable course set out for them. They were learning and engaging core, transferable skills they will be able to utilise through their cycling career.
The older group started off their warm up hitting the berms in the wooded sections of the Desborough site. The main focus of the session was to develop their bike handling techniques across multiple terrains; grass, tarmac, and gravel, completing hill efforts. They benefited from specific, personalised feedback given by Mark as they completed their efforts.
All riders left the session worn out but with a sense of achievement having taken on board advice and improved their own abilities on the bike.
You should all be proud of yourselves, we will see you same time, same place next week!
Of course if you’ve read this and are 17 or younger, or you know someone who would enjoy these sessions please come along!
Monday nights, 18:30-19:30, Desborough Leisure Centre, Ironwood Avenue NN14 2JJ.
