Whoooosshh! That was gusty…

41 riders braved a windy Langtons 10 TT course on Tuesday evening for Round 5 of the Club Championship.  Conditions were blowy to say the least, with riders battleing out to Medbourne and then getting a little help from Slawston through to the finish.

Gary Roberts was the fastest WVCC rider, stopping the clock at 23:27, followed by Rhys Thomas at 24:58 and Chris Orfeur a further second behind, both on road bikes – a duel to keep an eye on for the rest of the season.  Milly Pinnock was the fastest woman, and Jax Roberts top juvenile.

Guest rider Will Deely from our friends Rockingham Forest Wheelers had a storming ride, clocking 22:14, and Rocko’s Phil Wilkinson also had a strong ride with 24:31.

Again, thanks to all who helped to make it happen! Smiles from the marshals on the course were greatly appreciated by the riders, and also the hard work of the timing and signing on team, catering by Jen and Mike Ive’s top notch results service – thank you all.

Next up is the first Kibworth 25 of the year on Saturday morning (you can sign on here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080a4ca8ab2aa5f94-wvcc7#/).  First rider off at 8 am so it’s a case of …. “smoke me a kipper skipper – I’ll be back for breakfast!”

Thanks to Jon Durnin for the report. He’s offering points to anyone who can attribute the quote!
