Linda and Jamie make a cracking start to the 2023 TT season

Eight WVCC riders raced the firstĀ March Ratae RC 10 mile TTĀ on the Gilmorton course on Saturday. After a delayed start due to unplanned roadworks in Kimcote, riders headed off on the sporting course in cold conditions.

Jamie Kershaw was fastest junior, riding a TT bike for the first time, recording 26:57, good enough for 12th overall.

Jonathan Durnin was 4thĀ with 25:46, Nik Kershaw was 7th with 26:35, Gary Ashwell 10thĀ with 26:48, Simon Ward 11th with 26:56,Ā Steve Coulam 18thĀ with 28:48, Kevin Mills 21stĀ with 29:39, and Debbie Ward 34thĀ with 36:48.

TheĀ Mark Bell memorial 20 mileĀ time trial hosted by Kettering CC is often a season opener and this year was no different, with a trio of club riders racing. The event is held on great testing course, providing an early season challenge to test the legs after a winter of training. Linda Hubbard was the fastest female rider with a time of 56.09. Phil Rayner took 8th place stopping the clock with 50:53 ahead of Matt Plews in 9th who posted a time of 51:17.
