Whizz Kids – first event of the year
Good evening Whizz Kids, it seems ages since the presentation event early in December so Happy Christmas, Happy New Year and let’s get 2023 started. Our first event this year (which incidentally is the 20th season of Whizz Kids) is the traditional season opening cobweb clearing family ride up the Brampton Valley Way from Market Harborough towards Northampton Castle calling at Clipston & Oxendon, Kelmarsh and (by request only) Lamport. The train of riders will depart from Market Harborough at 2:00pm (Saturday only) and we will ride out for a maximum of 45 minutes before turning around and retracing our steps. All being well we should all arrive back in Market Harborough at 3:30pm, subject of course to any mud on the line.
Start and end point is Britannia Walk, opposite the Sainsbury’s petrol station and all are welcome. As the ride will inevitably get strung out as soon as we get past Little Bowden Level Crossing parents are encouraged to ride with Whizz Kids.
Toilets and refreshments are not catered for so “go” before you set out and bring any drinks and snacks with you. We will be riding through the tunnels so lights will be an distinct advantage – see Neil at George Halls Cycle Centre if you need new lights, mudguards may also be useful.
The link will go out to registered riders later this evening so keep a check of the mailbox later.
The trail will be muddy and wet on places so dress appropriately, don’t forgetting your bike and helmet. I think that covers everything, see you on Saturday afternoon. Lets Ride!
