Let’s be having you! Interclub TT Vs Rockingham Forest

Forget Tigers v Saints and Foxes v Forrest; THE big East Midlands derby clash  is next Wednesday’s inter-club fixture between Welland Valley and Rockingham Forest Wheelers (6 July).

It’s Rockingham’s turn to organise this year.  Kick off is 7pm; with signing on at Rocko’s Middleton club house (LE16 8YP) from 6pm.   Parking  is in the field by the finish line.

It’s a flat-ish 25 mile blast round the Welland Valley to decide the honours. Route of the course is available here from Garmin Connect.

We’re the current champions,  but we hear that Rocko have been putting the training in, so its going to be a tight contest.  Club chair Jonathan Durnin is calling on riders of all shapes, sizes and speeds to turn out in club colours to defend the title.

Whatever the result, its going to be great to catch up with our our hosts Rockingham Forest Wheelers for  post-race refreshments after the race (they even have a club license so maybe even a cheeky beer !)

One final thing. The start is near Medbourne (Drayton Road), so riders should allow sufficient time to reach the line in time. You will need to allow at least 15 minutes to ride to the start at an easy pace.
