TT Reports: ECCA 25 and BMCR 2022 National TT Championships

Simon Ward PBs at Saturday’s ECCA 25 Championships, with Matt Plews, Jen Clegg and Jon Durnin also in action.  Pete Bell had a storming ride on Sunday at the British Masters Cycle Racing 2022 National TT Championship.
On Saturday, Matt Plews, Simon Ward, Jen Clegg and Jon Durnin rode the Eastern Counties Cycling Association 25 mile TT Championships on Sunday, at the F2A/25 course near Cambridge.  It was a full field, with 150 entries and 134 riders starting.  The course is regarded as being fast in the right conditions, and goes out and back twice.  It is however rather exposed, and with cross winds it a tough  day, with riders getting no respite for the full 25 miles.  
Simon Ward was the WVCC star of the day, with a 25 PB of 1:01:07 .  Matt stopped the clock with 57:26, with Jon Durnin close behind with 57:38.  Jen Clegg, riding for Team Bottril finished in 1:03:18.

On Sunday 8 May, Pete Bell took part in the British Masters Cycle Racing (BMCR) 2022 National TT Championship. The course was ‘lumpy’, covering 19 miles, predominantly out and back along the A425 from Southam to Daventry.  Pete finished 7th in his Age Group category with a time of 48:57 and the fastest time on the day overall was Richard Oakes of Team Ohten Aveas with an outstanding 40:39.
