Harriet Evans reports on the first round of the NDCA
See below for a super report by Harriet Evans from R1 of the NDCA TT Series at Old, promoted by 45 Road Club
On Saturday I entered my first Northants & District Cycling Association time trial on the Lamport 10 course, a new course to me. I was set off at number 9 and for the first half of the course felt like I was flying, lovely tailwind and the sun was shining with a big downhill slope to the roundabout, as soon as I turned around my opinion on the course soon changed as I tackled the 3 mile ‘false flat’ drag back up.
When I reached the airfield straight I felt good again knowing I’d completed the gnarliest section of the course but completely underestimated the distance left including the 3 undulating lumps and the ‘up’ into the final corner but with my head down I kept the legs spinning with a sprint to finish and ended up stopping the clock at 27:20.
I was pleased with this time being my 10 mile PB and getting faster than some others on time trial bikes! Brilliantly organised, I look forward to the next!
Thank you Harriet!
Also riding were the Van Nierops with Hans stopping the clock at 23:48 and Josh at 24:06.
Well done all!
