Matt Plews reports on Sunday’s second Hardrider TT
The second round of the club time trial series was held on Sunday, consisting of two laps of the Medbourne-Hallaton course. The conditions were far from ideal and completely different to the early spring sunshine experienced on the Saturday.
The riders faced a cold north easterly wind which meant a head cross wind on the testing first climb out of Medbourne, thankfully the early morning fog had all but disappeared by the start.
Gary Roberts stormed to a convincing victory with a time of 51:49 followed by Matt Plews 55:54 and Tom Reynolds completing the podium 58:20. Special mention to Jill Postlethwaite, who tacking the course on a CX bike with gravel tyres!
The riders attention will now turn to the slightly less undulating Langtons course for the first evening Tuesday time trial of the season.
