2021 Awards and Medals

Welland Valley Cycling Club celebrated 2021 with its annual prize presentation at Kibworth Cricket Club.

Nick Clarke was presented with the prestigious Clubman of the Year trophy, nominated by previous winner Phil Rayner, for the success of the Chain Gang in 2021 and for welcoming and bringing on new members.  

The Rosemary Barnett Award, awarded for outstanding work for the club, was awarded to “All the people who organised the many events that kept the Club thriving in an unprecedented year” .

Club President George Barnett handed out the trophies, and the evening was compered by Jon Durnin.

The ‘speed raffle’ raised £560 for the East Midlands Air Ambulance and Thomas’s Fund. Thank you guests and members for all your donations for the raffle.

Many thanks to Claire Moore, John Welsford and Chris Dainty for organising the evening, and to Stuart Dawkins for compiling the awards, and to  George Barnett for managing the trophies.

Thanks also to Neil Holman from George Halls Cycle Centre for continued support of Welland Valley Whizz Kids, and support to Tim and Lucy Smith for their 2022 Land’s End to John O’Groats tandem ride to raise money for Thomas’s Fund.
