A fond farewell to Mike

Crowds lined the streets of East Langton to say a fond farewell today to Mike Vybiral.

Ahead of a private family funeral, Mike’s wicker coffin (complete with trademark red Crocs on top) was driven through his home village of East Langton.

A huge crowd had gathered at the roadside to pay their respects.

Mike was a long standing club member, and Welland Valley was represented by current and past club presidents George Barnett, Dave Birch and Vic Barnett; along with club chairman Jon Durnin and a host of WVCC members and friends.

Mike’s cycling, travelling and beer drinking exploits – along with his companionship and can-do attitude – were remembered in eulogies given by two friends.
