TT Report: PBs for Simon Ward and Jen Clegg at Newark; tough conditions at Dunchurch

Three WVCC riders tackled the Sherwood Cycling Club 25 mile TT on the A25/34 course at Newark on Saturday 14th August

A westerly wind meant that riders faced a very tough battle into a headwind on the outleg, but a cross tailwind on the  return leg from Cotgrave to Farndon.  Riders measured their efforts to the turn, and put the hammer down on the way back, and then did their best hold on for the bumpy 2 mile blast back into the headwind to the finish.

• Simon Ward – 1:01:47 (distance PB)
• Jennifer Clegg (riding for Team Bottrill) – 1:03:27 (a distance PB, and fourth lady)

Matt Plews and Linda Hubbard entered the Coventry CC 10 at Dunchurch on Saturday, great head/cross wind on outer leg which didn’t appear to provide much assistance on the return.  Matt finished with 22:28. Linda was unfortunate to not start due to a puncture after the warm up.
