Roadrunner XXX report

“Roadrunner, Roadrunner going faster miles an hour” would be a cracking anthem for the latest in the long running series of Tuesday evening Whizz Kids races and last night was no exception as there was some fast and furious racing by our young riders on the tarmac at Bruntingthorpe.

We ran two age groups last night, Riders aged 3,4,5 and 6 went together and the remaining riders rode as the second “U14” group and each group had three races, essentially a sprint, a longer timed race and a medium race to finish.  The Roadrunner 30 Results are here and apologies that I didn’t get the placings for the final race.

Thee were some lovely highlights last night, you could say there was great communication between Skye and Louie in the younger races as they went round at matching pace and having a great chat along the way,   Rory getting to the start line after a quick sprint from tennis even before he was dressed in the cycling kit and before fully warmed up.  Joseph and Jacob going head to head in the U-14’s and I think Joseph might have a crack at the seniors races in a couple of weeks based on last nights riding.

Thanks to Fabia, Sharon and all the team at Bruntingthorpe, we all had a great time and there were some happy , and possibly tired, riders after the event.  Next week it will be Roadrunner XXXI, first race at 6:30 ish and next week just a heads up that we’ll be using the course in the opposite direction for something different.  See you next week!
