Whizz Kids – July 10th report and invitation to Roadrunner XXX

Good evening Whizz Kids, we had a cracking afternoon in the sunshine at Welland Park for our skills session.  With a full compliment of riders we split into two groups with the younger riders having their own mini tour with 8 stages around the  park while the older riders worked on some precision bottle picks ups before moving to the oval in the tennis courts that had been renamed “Velodrome 34” in recognition of Mark Cavendish’s record equaling exploits in the Tour de France.  The riders appeared to enjoy Ian’s mini sprints to finish off the afternoon, so much so we over-ran quite a bit.

Thanks today to Ian, Jade and Chairman Jon for their great work, to all the parents who helped keep the riders  pointing in the right direction and not getting lost.  Special thanks to Kayden for donating a pair of ramps to Whizz Kids and they will be out on the field at the next session.

Now, A few parents asked today about the Roadrunner sessions starting on Tuesday.  We are riding at Bruntingthorpe Airfield for the next eight weeks and Whizz Kids will be having a series of races on the go-kart track.  These will be short races so If you’re interested please check your emails for booking details.  We’ll be booking week-to-week so you don’t have to commit to the full series.  We’ll be mixing up the racing each week so if you fancy giving this a try just book on before Monday lunchtime.  As we are at Bruntingthorpe we are required to provide a list of riders before each  and are also requested to limit the number of parents if possible.

We are at our busiest time of the year, and plenty of opportunities to ride.  Whichever sessions you choose, we’ll see you soon!
