“Oh no, it’s raining” came an anguished cry as the clock struck 2 o’clock this afternoon but fortunately the calls were somewhat premature as the number of raindrops could be counted on one hand, quickly giving way to a warm sunny afternoon for our latest skills session on the park. Working over three zones we split into groups and concentrated on a bunch of core skills including a bit of off/on to spice up the day. We rotated around the zones and finished the afternoon with a short practice race linking the zones into a single course. Massive thanks today to Ben, Ian, Jade and Simon for coaching today as well as to the parents who encouraged the riders on what proved to be a tiring afternoon.
Our next proper session will in October but in 2 weeks time on September 19th I’ll be away so Simon, Ben Jade and Ian will be riding the Brampton Valley Way and would like Whizz Kids and parents to join them for a family ride. If you are interested there is no need to book, just turn up at Britannia Walk (opposite Sainsburys) for a 2:00pm roll-out – and remember to add lights to the kit list for the ride through the tunnel.
