WVCC riders contest the Ratae RC 10 at Gilmorton

The time trial season finally got under way for several Welland Valley riders this morning. After a stormy start to the season, with cancelled events, seven WVCC riders took to the start line at the Ratae 10 in Gilmorton.

A blustery and cold wind made the going tough with little assistance at any point on the course.

Matt Plews was the fastest of the Welland Valley contingent, clocking a time of 23:58, followed home by Jon Durnin in 25:12 and in third with a cracking ride, Kian Traynor posting an excellent time of 25:54. Hans Van Nierop was a further two seconds back with 25:56 with Ian Waterfield next home stopping the clock with 26:17. Simon Ward recorded a time of 27:56 and Nicola Traynor finished with a time of 31:05.

A big thanks to our friends, Ratae RC for hosting the event.
