Derby played host to the first round of the national cyclo cross series at moorways sports centre
It was an early morning start for the over 60 Vets. Heavy dew made the corners extra slippy with lots of off cambers.
Vic Barnett thought he handled the conditions pretty well finishing in 14th position.
It was midday before Luke Jones competing in his first trophy event took to the start line. He finished in a creditable 42nd place in the under 14.
By late afternooon it was the turn of the under 16, Dominic Switzer finishing in 77th place of a hotly contested event.
