Roadrunner XXVI Report

Hi Whizz Kids – Roadrunner XXVI report.
After last weeks cancellation the Whizz Kids and guest Rockets returned to action on Runway 10 for the final Roadrunner of the season under the setting sun and accompanied by a cycling/roadrunner soundtrack. The plan was to have a couple of races one way then to run the third and fourth races in add a bit of variety. This part worked perfectly in rehearsals but on the night it was clear that the reverse course was causing some “navigation errors” and once riders appeared riding on the same section in different directions the race was neutralised and red flagged. Oh Well…
To avoid any further confusion riders moved to the Stoughton drag strip for a series of sprints with winners being handicapped back a few metres for the next heat. Such was the dominance by Andrew he started the final heat just outside of Great Glen and still managed to edge out Joseph on the line.
Unfortunately George took a tumble in Race 2 and had to sit out the rest of the session after his helmet did what it should and absorbed the bump but cracking in the process.
Thanks to Lilly and Oliver who represented the Rockets and to Simon and Glen who helped keep our riders in more or less the right place.
Results are here at  Roadrunner XXVI.
