Chris reports on his #jerseyonajourney in the Peak district.
Its particularly topical at the moment, with a photo of the Jersey at the Cat and Fiddle pub between Macclesfield and Buxton.
” On Tuesday, I cycled from Chapel en le Frith to Macclesfield through Whaley Bridge and then from Macclesfield to the Cat and Fiddle 6.6 miles uphill at 3.2% average gradient.
The pub has been closed for some time now and is / was one of the highest in England at around 1,700 feet above sea level.
From the pub I then cycled on to Buxton for coffee and cake and then back to Chapel via Dove Holes for 29.3 miles total and just over 900 metres total climbing. Pleased to have done the ride and don’t think it would be possible three days later with the events currently happening at Whaley Bridge.”
