Just five members of the club took part in the Eleventh round of the Friday night mtb series at Daventry.
Being a new venue it surprised many riders of the severity of climbing involved added to this a shorter circuit than normal making a tough race.
The under 23 race saw Louis Jacobson and Fraser Ayers finish in third and fourth places after a tough battle during the race thirty seconds split them at the end.
In the ladies race Sarah Vigrow took fifth spot whilst in the grand vets Vic Barnett claimed eighth spot; his highest placing this season
Youth rider Will Perkins had the misfortune to puncture early on and had to abandon the race.
This weeks race is nearer to home at Marston Trussel, being the penultimate round of the series, it is bound to attract a quality field with riders looking for vital points.
Part of the circuit will include sections used in the mayhem race, no doubt course designer Dean Barnett will make it interesting.
