LVRC category wins for Martin and Bunny

Brearley near Stratford on Avon saw the latest action in the LVRC road racing calendar. Just like a highly strung thoroughbred race horse Phil Rayner  was a bit poorly and did not start leaving just Bunny and Martin Webster to do the club proud!

On an 8 mile circuit with a testing hill and a long uphill drag to the finish both riders felt strong in their respective racers and both were riding against others in a younger category as well as their own age group.

Similar stories played out in each race. In the C/D race Roy Chamberlain went on a solo break staying away until the finish, Martin won the bunch sprint by 30 thousandth of a second  winning his age group and second overall and this just one week after hurting both knees in a nasty crash in his last event.

In the E, F, G race Derby rider Steve Tucker also won from a solo break which is becoming something of a speciality for him. Bunny tried to get away in a chasing group but as is so often the case in these races they came to nothing. With the field all primed for a bunch sprint for second place Bunny outsprinted all bar one winning his age group and getting 3rd overall.

Next Road event is a Circuit race at Mallory Park on Thursday evening when the club again hope for a good turnout with the yellow jerseys once more appearing at the front when it matters.

Well done both!
