Bunny competed at the LVRC Circuit race at Milton Keynes Bowl for age 65+, the fourth round of a season long series, taking 2nd. Bunny reports:
“Race was on smooth tarmac that runs around the Bowl, no sharp corners and only uphill is up to finish line each lap. Race length 40mins plus 5 laps. One rider drifted off the front fairly early on and as everyone was watching each other he slipped away to win by about 20seconds.
As current leader in the series I was content to let challengers do the chasing but in previous rounds there is not enough sustained chasing and it was the whole bunch sprinting for second place. By changing through the gears to 11 sprocket I was able to pip Dave Hughes to the line.
Dave is a member of the current world champion team pursuit for our age group and a hard man to beat in a sprint so I was pleased with my morning’s work”.
Fraser Ayears was 8th and Rob Moore was 12th in Saturday’s NCRA race organised by Rockingham Forest Wheelers.
