Boom! Phil and Bunny lead the Welland Valley charge at MK LVRC

Welland Valley CC had a great day at the 2nd round of the LVRC Masters Percy Stallard National Series near Milton Keynes today.

In the Youngsters race (40 to 50 ) James Moore took a fine 2nd place by winning the bunch sprint, shame there was one rider away solo for the win. James was followed home closely by Rob Moore.

In the over 50 s race, all breakaways were brought back in what was a very fast race. Phil Rayner put his sprint to good use by winning the bunch finish and thus taking first place. Very close behind for an excellent third place was Martin Webster.

In the over 60’s race, a three man break was away for much of the 44mile race, being caught by a fast moving bunch with one 11 mile lap remaining. Despite valiant attempts by various riders to breakaway the field was altogether for the uphill sprint Finish. Bunny managed 5th in the gallop winning his age group too.

Bunny is now leading the prestigious season long Percy Stallard series after two events having also won the first event in the series promoted by Welland Valley’s Phil Rayner.
