Bike ‘n’ Beer Off-Road Rides

Bike ‘n’ Beer CX/MTB off-road rides are back – and move back to their traditional home of Friday nights. We have the following schedule planned in April – after the clocks change and before the FNSS MTB series starts – all meeting at 6.30pm:

  • Friday 5th April – Shoulder of Mutton, Great Bowden – led by Andrew Wood
  • Friday 12th April – The Cherry Tree, Little Bowden – led by Adrian Killworth
  • Thursday 18th April (19th is Good Friday) – The Bell, Burton Overy – led by Jon Durnin
  • Friday 26th April – Bridge 61, Foxton Locks – led by Adrian Killworth

The intention is for an off-road ride that will be suitable for cyclocross bikes as well as mountain bikes of around 2 hours. The meeting point will be variable to enable us to explore more of the local bridleways, field roads, tow paths, disused railway lines and other trails. These would usually be followed by a vitamin B recovery drink in a local hostelry (although beer is not compulsory). Volunteers are needed to plan routes and lead rides. Lights are essential as it gets dark early and we might ride through the tunnels on the Brampton Valley Way. Some form of puncture protection is also recommended, such as self-sealing inner tubes or tubeless tyres + sealant.

Please contact Adrian Killworth – offroad@wellandvalleycc.co.uk – for more information or to be added to the Bike ‘n’ Beer message group.
