2018 Club Championship Round One

detail2 v2

The prestigious 2018 Welland Valley CC Club Championship kicks off the club time-trial season.

Round one of eleven will see the riders enjoy a sporting 5 mile course on Saturday 24th February.

Round one is billed as a ‘hardride’ and features an ascent of Stockerston climb to blow away any winter cobwebs.

The first rider to hear ‘5,4,3,2,1’ will be at 2pm.

Medbourne village hall is the HQ, the start is in Stockerston.

Last years Club Champions were Linda Hubbard, Matt Plews, and Bill Brarrie.

This event is a great opportunity for anyone new wanting to try time-trialling – Time trialling is the simplest of competitive formats: a race against the clock, with riders starting a minute apart. It’s known as the ‘race of truth’ because there’s nowhere to hide, no one to draft behind; just you and the bike and the thumping of your heart. Oh, and a clock ticking.

Even if you don’t fancy competing this weekend, why not head out and give vocal support to those competing.
