Interclub Hill Climb report
Miles Marr reports on a cracking Interclub Hill Climb:
The 2026 interclub hillclimb. This year it was Kettering CC’s turn to organise, and they’ve done a great job.
Having expected this to be the Medbourne ascent of the climb to Neville holt (I know! ADHD: I scan-read) I was pleasantly surprised to find it was the much steeper, harder side from Drayton. What fun.
With a great turn out of 49 riders, of 51 sign-ups, the atmosphere was fantastic. Looking around there were plenty of super light riders, and they rode some fantastic times.
Fastest time of the day was from Josh Brown, of Kettering CC, with a superb 3m21s; a full 3 seconds faster than the nearest contender. Fastest female was Lydia Baxter, of Fulfil the Potential race team (and second claim WVCC)with a time of 3m59s; 4 seconds less than the 2nd place woman Ruby Isaac (CAMS Majeco, and also second claim WVCC).
An honourable mention for fastest WVCC riders Jamie Kershaw, Diego Patteri & Jason ‘Wilf’ Williams with respectable times of 3:33, 3:52 & 3:54 respectively. Luckily we also had Lydia, Ruby Isaac and Jen Hulme to represent the WVCC women.
Congratulations to Kettering CC, taking the overall trophy. Welland Valley CC took the Women’s competition.
Well done all, thank you KCC and Rocko, and to Miles for a super report.
