Whizz Kids vingtième (20th) Tour de Welland

Hi Whizz Kids, we’re back in action on Saturday for the vingtième (20th) edition of the Tour de Welland and this will be held again at Husbands Bosworth airfield. The Tour de Welland was first competed for in 2007 when the grand départ of the Tour de France first came to the UK, and apart from the covid summer it’s been held annually since in early July to tie in with the “other tour”.  The event on Saturday afternoon will be a series of quick races, or stages, for all age groups.  Racing starts at 2:00pm and we’ll be going for up to 90 minutes.  The weather forecast is currently quite warm with temperatures in the low 30°C’s so we’ll be taking plenty of advert hydration breaks during the afternoon.  If you haven’t been to the airfield before please aim for the gliding club on Sibbertoft Rd then follow the perimeter track around to the containers at What3Words///continues.escapes.equality, then follow the gravel track past the caravans to the field of dreams.  Please drive slowly down the gravel track to respect the residents and minimise the dust.

Booking is open, registered riders please check your email and/or the WhatsApp group for the booking link

Don’t forget your bike, helmets drinks & snacks, and sunblock for this one and we’ll see you for the tour!
