Round Robin TT series kicks off at Lubenham

On Tuesday 41 riders from 3 local clubs joined in Husbands Bosworth for the first round of the Round Robin series. There was a moderate breeze from the west, and a chance of rain  according to my weather app,  but most riders stayed dry.

The course features a mix of tiring inclines, flat stretches, and a few technical turns. The out leg felt fast,  and the return leg was harder as usual with a combination of a headwind and bigger climbs.

Fastest rider from the six Round Robin clubs was Ratae RC’s Alex Whitmore (on a roadbike!) at 22:44, followed by fastest WVCC rider Hans Van Nierop with 23:02, with Jamie Kershaw third.

Leah Cuthbertson was  fastest woman at 24:59.

Charlie Hoyle (Shibden Apex RT) was fastest overall with a superb 20:18

Rockingham Forest Wheelers have rescheduled the event cancelled last week to the 26th August.  Thanks to Phil and the Rocko team – we are again at 12 events .  To find out more on the Round Robin TT series go to:  https://wellandvalleycc.co.uk/roundrobin2026/

Thanks to the marshals, time keepers, Angela for catering and Mike Ives for processing the results, it couldn’t happen without them.

We found a black hoodie at the HQ. JD has it in safe keeping.

The next Round Robin is tomorrow (2 July) on the Lamport course, organised by our friends at Kettering CC . Entries are now open, and need to be done through the CTT website, here:

Kettering (and Rocko and Hinckley CRC)  are using the Cycling Time Trials website to manage entry, and you have to enter online.  Riders need a CTT account to do this.  There is no cost to enter online, you pay in person on the night when you sign on.

Setting up a CTT account is straightforward (https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/register), and you will have an account already if you have entered an open TT in the past (including N&DCA events).  However forgotten passwords are something riders just have to sort themselves.
