What else do you need to know?Â
- It’s going to be fun!
- A very quiet rural course: great for beginners – a course where pace judgment is essential – the start is fast then the road rises and falls until the turn at Welham.
- This course has a right turn in Welham which needs some care. (Go to the left of the cone in events or be disqualified!). Â
- Be aware as you pass the Wheel and Compass pub in Weston By Welland of traffic entering/exiting the car park and take care at the left turn at the church
- After turning onto Paynes Lane before Medbourne, the next turn towards Slawston is sharp and it is easy to end up on the wrong side of the road.
- Care at the entry to Slawston. Straight on to the finish to the finish just shy of Tur Langton

Additional Risk assessment notes (see below map for locations of hazards):
- There may some mud on the road between the woodyard (3km – no.1) and the Wheel and Compass. As you pass the pub, be mindful of traffic leaving or turning into the pub carpark.
- In the run between the turn for Ashley and the turn onto Payne’s Lane at Medbourne there are longitudinal cracks in the road (6km – no.2) as the surface has subsided slightly towards the edge of the road.
- As the road descends and turns into Slawston Main St. (9.5km -no. 3, Marshall) there is an extensive pothole on the left hand edge of the road. Cutting an aggressive line through this bend will put you in the pothole, so take care.
- On the Cranoe road after the road begins to dip towards Stonton Wyville, there are several potholes near the edge of the road (14km, no.4)
