Whizz Kids Racing League 1

Hi Whizz Kids! We are back in action on Saturday afternoon, 14th March for our first racing league event of the year.  For those of you new to Whizz Kids let me explain what this is about.   We have a season long competition within Whizz Kids (kindly supported by Alden Electrical) that gives our riders their first taste of competition.  There are usually six or seven different events across the year covering a range of disciplines that includes bunch racing on grass and tarmac, time trials and hill climbs.  Riders compete for points throughout the year and points are distributed across both age and gender groups so that there is a good potential for most riders to be in the mix for trophies and medals that will be presented at our final session of the year in December.  Each event is divided into several shorter races, or stages, that all contribute points.

The first race event will be on grass, so not suitable for stabilisers or slick tyres and you can find us at the rear of the Market Harborough Leisure Centre, Northampton Road on the grass banks, aim for What3Words ///sculpting.whips.televise.  Parking can be challenging if Harborough Town are at home so leave a little extra time.  We’ll be handing out race numbers from 1:45pm ready for the first race at 2:00pm and all being well we should be wrapped up by 3:30pm.

If you are looking to join us, please check your email or WhatsApp group for the booking details and ideally register before 09:00 on Saturday morning so we can prepare the event.

Don’t forget your bike, helmet and drinks.  After the last session where I apparently said it was going to be a dry week, please look outside your door before you set out, and dress appropriately for whatever weather we have.

See you on Saturday
