BMX Bandits

Hi all,

After a few requests to put a BMX session on for the Whizz Kids we decided to head over to the pump track at Desborough leisure centre for a trial run.

The first thing to point out is that what Kev and I know about BMX racing is about the same as what Tadej Pogacar knows about coming second in bike races…very little.

Never the less 16 eager bandits met up and after a few laps running around on foot to get a feel for the circuit we broke the lap up into chunks to dial in. As we all got more confidence we put in a full lap and then two full laps at pace.

We finished of with a team relay which we managed to improve by 1 second on our 2nd attempt.

A big thanks to Kev and Sophie for helping and I would like to put out a special thanks, although they may never read this, to the local youngsters of Desborough, who scootered along side us with patience and courtesy.
