Round and round and round
“O what a glorious thing to be
A healthy, grown up, busy busy, cyclist”
OK, I know it doesn’t scan, and I apologise to Arthur Askey, but I did so enjoy riding around the Leicester cycle track last week in the company of other like-minded people. We were all there for the second of the club’s group riding training evenings and we were in the good hands of Simon Ward. What’s more the weather couldn’t have been better!
I love cycling but my bike handling skills are sorely lacking and so I found the evening extremely helpful. I wouldn’t have believed I could have ridden four abreast linked together by holding each other’s shoulders. Somehow, I managed not to take the whole group down, thank you to Sophie for all the tips.
It was good to practise riding as a group and getting in and out of line too – congratulations to Simon on getting us to do all this successfully whilst having so much fun. The “additionation” game was fast and furious, well done to those who held on for so long, and the mousetrap game was hilarious. I still have no idea how it worked!
Thank you to Simon for running such a great evening and thank you to Stolen Goat too for the water bottles. And sorry I forgot to take photos.
