Cycling Skills week 5

Our thanks to Mark Evans and all other coaches from WVCC and Kettering Cycling Club who have been running the Cycling Skills Course over the summer. It seems to have gone really, really well.
There were not so many youngsters at the session last Monday but that’s because it was a bank holiday. And despite the leisure centre assuring us  s they’d be open, they weren’t!
However, turning a negative into a positive is what we’re good at so the kids had one to one coaching and the empty car park was the perfect Crit Circuit for some ‘road skills’ on the tarmac!

Jane and Fran focused on ‘riding together in a group’ and some ‘through and off’ preparing them early for Nick Clarke and crew in a ‘couple of years time’!
The older ones went exploring the green space and, by special request, practiced tight corners, a limbo warm up getting ‘catlike’ on the bike before a bit of fun on the berms!
Both groups came together for ten minutes of limbo fun to finish. Next Monday, hopefully everyone is back off holidays for our race (fun) night when we get to string all the skills together, with special guest and prizes!
